ogvideos.gallery collects the best motion-driven social previews on the web: the short loops a website shows when its link is shared. It’s a reference for designers, motion designers, developers and founders working on their own.

What counts as an OG video

Open Graph metadata usually points at a still image. Some sites also advertise a video (og:video), but a video in the metadata doesn’t mean every platform will play it. So every entry carries one of four labels, and the page lists the evidence behind it separately: metadata detected, media retrieved, playable here, and the platforms where an editor saw it render.

  • Verified OG Video. The site’s own Open Graph metadata points at this video file, and we retrieved and played that exact file.
  • Verified Social Preview Animation. An editor confirmed this animation renders in a link preview on the platforms listed.
  • Curated Website Motion. A motion piece associated with the website, chosen by our editors. It is not presented as an Open Graph video.
  • Community Submission — Pending Verification. Submitted by the community. Its source has not been verified yet.

How videos get here

Every entry is picked by hand, from our own browsing and from submissions. We file each one by industry, motion style and technique so you can browse by what you’re making.

Ownership

Every video belongs to its website and creators. We show it for reference, credit and link the source, and never offer downloads. Some videos play from the website’s own servers; where we host a copy, it’s because the owner submitted it or gave permission, or because the site publishes it for link previews. If you’d like an entry removed or corrected, ask here and we’ll handle it promptly.

Our crawler

When a site is submitted, we fetch its home page once to read its Open Graph tags, and the video file it advertises, identifying as ogvideos.gallery/1.0. We don’t crawl beyond that, and we re-check sources only occasionally.
